TotalEnergies, Petronas take part in Brazil oil and gas venture
Operator Petrobras will hold 30% interest in Agua-Marinha block of Campos Basin
Michael Marray 7 Jun 2023

QatarEnergy, TotalEnergies, Petrobras, and Petronas Petroleo Brasil Ltda (PPBL) have signed a production-sharing contract (PSC) for the Agua-Marinha block in the prolific Campos Basin offshore Brazil.

The block was awarded to the consortium in December 2022, in the first cycle permanent offer round, by Brazil’s National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas, and Biofuels (ANP).

Under the terms of the PSC and associated agreements, operator Petrobras will hold a 30% interest in the block, TotalEnergies 30%, QatarEnergy 20%, and PPBL 20%.

The Agua-Marinha block has a total area of 1,300 square kilometres and situated in water depths of about 2,000 metres south of the Marlim Sul field and about 140km from shore.
