The Asset   28 Jun 2023

Polen Capital Management, an investment management firm based in Boca Raton, Florida, has invested an undisclosed amount in Asian credit investor Income Partners, thereby establishing a strategic partnership between them.

The deal will provide Hong Kong-headquartered Income Partners with growth capital to support and accelerate its ongoing initiatives and extend its global distribution reach, according to a statement from Polen Capital. Upon the close of the transaction, there will be no change in Income Partners’ investment process, day-to-day management, or operations.

Emil Nguy, chairman, chief executive officer and chief investment officer of Income Partners, says: “We are thrilled about our collaboration with Polen, a best-in-class US credit investor, and are excited about the global prospects the partnership will bring. This international partnership will allow us to share ideas that will bolster our ability to service clients and their evolving global credit needs.”

Over the past 30 years, Income Partners has been involved in traditional and alternative Asian credit strategies, investing across renminbi rates and currency, Asia investment grade, Asia high yield, and special-situation alternative private credit.

“Polen’s partnership with Income Partners is a testament to the firm’s strong position as a market leader and underscores Polen’s commitment to expanding its presence across Asian markets and credit globally,” says Polen Capital president Karl Dasher. “Income Partners’ regional credit expertise will expand our research and sourcing capabilities in this important, rapidly growing market.”

Lincoln International served as the exclusive financial adviser while Norton Rose Fulbright ( Asia ) served as legal counsel to Polen Capital.
