Wongi Kim

Allianz Trade in Asia-Pacific has appointed Wongi Kim to the role of country manager for its operations in South Korea, effective 1 April, succeeding Andy Ryoo, a seasoned trade credit professional who is retiring after a stellar career that spans over 22 years with the company.

Kim joined Allianz Trade in 2015 as a business development manager, a role he held for nearly eight years. In 2023, he was promoted to commercial manager to oversee both business development and account management teams, demonstrating, the company says, his capacity to inspire and lead diverse teams towards achieving ambitious goals.

Prior to Allianz Trade, Kim spent over eight years with the Seoul Guarantee Insurance Company.

“Kim has a wealth of product knowledge and proven track record,” adds Edmond Lee, CEO of Allianz Trade in Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea. “He will further strengthen our presence not just in the local market but in the region, and foster stronger and enduring relationships with our customers and business partners.”
