Nordea rolls out first two BetaPlus active ETFs
Popular investment strategy takes more flexible format to cover wider range of investors
The Asset   20 Jun 2025

Nordea Asset Management ( NAM ) has launched its first two BetaPlus active ETFs, bringing one of Europe’s most successful strategies to a wider range of investors.

BetaPlus is a €60 billion ( US$ 69.09 billion ) family of active enhanced strategies that has consistently delivered alpha with controlled risk for over 15 years, an ideal solution for investors in the current volatile and concentrated market environment, the firm says.

Previously offered only via traditional UCITS mutual funds and mandates, the strategy is now available in the format of exchange-traded funds ( ETFs ).

“BetaPlus is not new – for 15 years these strategies have been delivering what investors need most: consistent alpha with controlled risks,” says NAM chief executive officer Nils Bolmstrand. “With €60 billion already invested, client demand is growing for consistent alpha delivered with control and cost-efficiency. Offering BetaPlus as ETFs is a natural next step, giving investors the flexibility and tradability they’ve been asking for.”

According to NAM, BetaPlus combines quantitative portfolio construction with carefully controlled risk and integrated sustainability. These active strategies leverage the firm’s multi-assets team’s deep expertise in multi-factor investing.

“This approach is designed for reliability, not surprises, making it an attractive choice for investors seeking consistent alpha,” the firm says.

Domiciled in Ireland, the Nordea ETF ICAV – BetaPlus Enhanced Global Developed Sustainable Equity Fund UCITS ETF and the Nordea ETF ICAV – BetaPlus Enhanced Global Sustainable Equity Fund UCITS ETF are available at launch on the Xetra trading venue of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. They are also awaiting listing on the London Stock Exchange and the SIX Swiss Exchange.
