Citi has appointed Aloke Gupte as its global co-head of equity capital markets ( ECM ), alongside Doug Adams, and Alex Watkins as its head of technology financing.
Based in London, Gupte has established an excellent reputation across the industry, the bank notes, and his experience across products, geographies and sectors positions him strongly to serve its global clients. “His leadership will further build the momentum of our ECM business,” it adds, “expanding our reach and deepening our capacity to deliver high-impact client outcomes.”
Gupte was most recently co-head of international ECM at J.P. Morgan. Prior to this, he has held multiple senior roles over his 20-plus year career in Europe and Asia-Pacific across ECM, structured equity, coverage and mergers and acquisitions.
Watkins, who will be based in San Francisco, will drive the bank’s financing businesses globally across the debt and equity spectrum for its technology clients. His varied product and client experience, combined with a global approach, the bank points out, will help it deliver world-class advice and execution to its technology clients.
As well, Watkins will partner closely with Rich Zogheb, Adams and Gupte. He joins Citi from J.P. Morgan, where he was co-head of ECM international ( Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia Pacific ). He has held various roles across investment banking and ECM at J.P. Morgan, as well as Goldman Sachs prior to this.
